The Golden Ratio is an special creation by Ray Gropius for “\u03c6\u1d60\u1d69 Pavilion” to\u00a0The Wrong New Digital Arts Biennale 2018.\u00a0<\/em>www.thewrong.org<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Gropius, departing from his minimal system of animated nodes, gives to the protagonist a dense presence packing him into layers of his own self through a self-referential mathematical sequence.\u00a0<\/span>The association between the president’s golden toup\u00e9e and the decadance of the baroque aesthetics Gropius heavily draws upon, is a surprising but justified move as it points to the metaversal crisis today. Here, the basic capacity of virtual realities and of the broader metaversal reality to integrate man with information goes beyond the practical fact.\u00a0<\/span>The consequences of a cognitively unlimited access to information and enhanced capability to know and experience our surroundings are perceived by Gropius in dystopian terms.<\/span> -Cara Delavignette-<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
